How the process works...
After you've decided to use my services we'll jump right in.
Use my planning sheet to help organize your thoughts. I'll send this to you as a PDF. You can also get a head start by using my online work organizer form to help you get going. Both include sections for you to brainstorm which pages you want and what you want on each page.
We'll email (and/or call) back and forth to make sure we're on the same page.
Gather your materials including body copy, headlines, photos/graphics, and any links you might want to send people to.
Body Copy: Type up what you want to say. Edit and proof your own work. I will help with this, but it uses up part of the basic fee which could be better spent adding pizazz to your site. Type your copy in Microsoft Word, Open Office, or Pages. Don't include any fancy formatting because it's not necessarily going to transfer in a copy/paste. You should certainly bold and italicize words you would like to bold and italicize on your website. Don't use any fancy fonts. The web is limited to a few standard fonts.
Images: Gather your images. Images can include photos, clipart, charts, etc. There are certain formats these must be in. I can convert some images to acceptable formats, but you should stick with jpgs and gifs. I'll help you with this. Photos should be resized for web viewing at a resolution of 72 with no dimension larger than 1000 pixels. I am very fast at processing and reprocessing photos, but I can't necessarily work total magic. In other words, if you send a fuzzy photo it's going to remain fuzzy on your site. Send the best images you can. My PhotoShop and file conversion work is included in the initial fee as long as the site takes me eight hours or less to complete. Unless you send in 200 photos and each needs work, there's usually never a problem keeping site production time under that. Images can also include video and you can also upload audio files.
While you're gathering your materials, I'll let you start picking out a Weebly template for your design. There are dozens to choose from and each can be tweaked here and there. For example, the photo at the top of this site is a stock photo from one of Weebly's templates. I could easily switch that photo out with one of my own. You should spend some time choosing an appropriate look, but even after I've started it's possible to quickly change out a template for another. Most of the info will transfer but it might not look exactly like we wanted. I can work on re-working elements to to make it all work and there's no charge as long as we stay under the eight hours. Again, check out the designs on the theme selections page. There are over 100.

Some fine print...
Okay, there's some business stuff you need to know. Once we've determined your basic needs and I've quoted you a price, I'll submit an invoice for 1/2 of the total. You can pay this via a credit card using PayPal (you do not need to be a member of PayPal to use this option) or you can mail me a check. I do not accept produce or first-born children for payment. Actually, I don't want second-born either. Sorry.
I will send you a contract once I think of what to put in one. I do know I can't be responsible for spellings errors that you submitted though I'll do my best to find those myself.
I am not responsible for any downtime of a website due to a server or hosting issue. Weebly uses very reliable servers with redundancy and has an uptime like most reliable services of well over 99%.
Any images and documents you send must be owned by you. In other words, I can't post copyrighted material for you unless you own the copyright or have permission from the author or publisher to do so. I can help you find royalty-free clipart, images, and photos similar to the ones used in this website.
Another payment is due once I've sent you the link to see your initial site.
And the balance is due immediately prior to posting the website to the live web. Of course, you can pay the entire fee upfront (it's not all that much you know). And do keep in mind that for many websites...we'll be going from materials received to site published in just a couple of weeks or less. If you absolutely must have a site up and running in a couple of days...it's possible!
